Terms of Service

Last updated: July 12, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PermitWire (the "Service"), operated by PermitWire ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

PermitWire compiles public-record building-permit and land-use data published by government agencies, enriches it with public parcel and taxpayer records, and delivers it as subscription lead lists, dashboards, exports, and optional direct-mail services. The underlying records are public; we charge for collection, cleaning, matching, and delivery.

2. Accounts and subscriptions

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. Subscriptions bill monthly or annually in advance through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the paid period. Per-piece Concierge mail charges are metered and billed in arrears.

3. Acceptable use

Lead lists are licensed to your business for its own marketing. You may not resell, redistribute, or publicly republish the Service's data; use it to build a competing data product; or use it for any unlawful purpose, including harassment or unlawful discrimination in housing-related solicitation. You are responsible for ensuring your own outreach complies with applicable law (see our Responsible Outreach page).

4. Data accuracy

Public records contain errors, and matching permits to owners is probabilistic. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Verify independently before relying on any record.

5. Direct Mail Concierge

Concierge campaigns require your approval before mailing unless you enable auto-approval. You are the sender of record for your campaigns and responsible for the truthfulness of your marketing content. We apply suppression lists and honor recipient opt-out requests.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost business opportunities.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may terminate by cancelling your subscription. Sections 3, 4, 6, and 8 survive termination.

8. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. We may update these Terms with notice via email or the Service; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Questions: use the contact information in the site footer.
